A history of the discovery of the camera

Who the hell needs to be given to Daguerre's gratitude? French painter whose full name is Louis-Jacques Mande Daguerre this is not as popular as Kodak, a worldwide as the brand of camera. Yet man is born 18 November 1787 midwife and the world of photography. Initially, in July 1822, Daguerre formed a theater. In a show, he made a surprise by presenting the illusion of painting that makes the show more "alive". The key of all is the camera obscura (dark room), a square box with a small hole openings are projected into the object outside the walls of the tool in the reverse situation. This is the pioneer of the camera is known so far.

This principle is already known to Aristotle 2,000 years ago. Even the Italian scientist and writer, Giambattista della Porta, at the end of the 16th century has been explained in full use of the camera obscura with a lens. Until the 18th century toy camera obscura became the painter to copy objects from nature accurately. But it still can not bring the picture permanently.

Then came Nicéphore Niepce who lived in Chalonsur-Saone, 189 miles southeast of Paris. His hobbies in lithography led him into the world of photography. In this process the image transferred to a lithographic stone. To create an image of Niepce rely on his expertise. Unfortunately, his son entered the military service so that Niepce ultimately rely on light to paint the picture he wanted.

Niepce oiling painting so transparent, then put it on plates coated with light-sensitive solution and heating it in light of the Sun. After several hours, the bright paintings will harden, while the dark parts will remain soft that can be lost by washing, leaving the painting plagiarism. Year 1826 - 1827 Niepce produced his front yard landscape pictures using the camera obscura are paired with a slab of a mixture of tin and lead. It takes light about eight hours to get the picture. Unfortunately, the results obtained is still too dark (underexposed).

On December 4, 1829, Niepce and Daguerre has worked to improve the results already achieved Niepce. Tin sheets were replaced with silver coated copper plate, and then processed using a solution of iodine. The experiments continue to be made by using silver iodine which is attenuated in mercury. Exposure time can be shortened to half an hour. Indeed, the results can not be permanent. New year 1837, four years after the death of Niepce, Daguerre could preserve images obtained by dissolving it in a solution of common salt. The process is given the name daguerreotype. While the process of finding named Niepce heliograph (because it uses the sun's rays).

Images produced by Daguerre not be reprinted. For reprint should be used movies. Ways of making this film was first invented by an Englishman, William Henry Fox Talbot. Films made in Tabot an image on light sensitive paper and then made transparent by the light of candles. From here, photography is growing again. After the negative and positive films (slides), now the image of camera shots can be stored in the form of digital data. So, baseball needs to film again. Sharing is sexy
